Secretary (Board Position)
It’s vital that the Board have a record of its proceedings. The Secretary records motions, summarizes discussion, and records votes made at Board meetings. Minutes are also maintained by the Secretary, and submissions to the Board are recorded and filed.
Skills: Organizational skills; the ability to follow and transcribe briefly discussion, motions and votes; familiarity with word processing and computer filing systems. Good meeting participation skills, and the ability to seek clarification.
Time Commitment: The Board meets monthly for approximately two hours, with occasional special meetings. Preparing minutes and filing documents will likely require an additional six hours. Total: 8 hours per month.
