Literary Open Mic

The inaugural session of the CVCAS Literary Open-Mic July 10 featured poets, writers, and musicians from the Mid Island region and beyond. They got together at the Waterwheel Park Bandshell in Chemainus. Reading their works were: Judy Deleo, Dylan Fry, Marguerite Camus, Esther Hagar, Michael Holland, Jonathan Churcher, Alison Therrien, Sylvia Holt, Craig Spence, and (not in photo) Kaitlyn McMurray.

The next Literary Open Mic get together will take place Friday, August 14, 7 to 8:30 pm at the bandshell in Waterwheel Park. Everyone’s welcome to an evening sharing and celebrating the works of Mid-Island literary artists—that includes songwriters, playwrights, spoken word artists and anyone else who stirs the imagination with original, creative compositions. Each participant will be allotted 10 minutes, or more if space permits. The lineup will be established on a sign-up sheet at the session. Come speak your piece or listen in a supportive forum, under the evergreen canopy of Waterwheel Park. Invite a friend. Got a question or comment? Contact craig-spence@shaw.ca.
