Workshop: Songwriting

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: If you feel a song in your heart and want to have a go at writing your own, this songwriting workshop is for you. Whether it’s Bob Dylan, Taylor Swift, Metallica, or the latest Broadway musical that inspires you, learn to study the craft and techniques used in the songs you love from a writer’s perspective. Learn to engage and move listeners with your authentic, truthful voice. Write a song for your partner’s birthday, for your new grandchild, tell a good story or just say something you want to say the world in a song! Bring a pen and paper (and a recording device like a smartphone if you want). You will receive valuable feedback on any songs you share. You’ll get in workshop writing exercises, song starter ideas, group discussion, potential co writers and more. Much fun will be had! An electric keyboard will be available for piano/organ playing. Feel free to bring your own guitar or another acoustic instrument.
