The Lara Wong Trio is Melón Jiménez on flamenco guitar, Curtis Andrews on percussion, and Lara Wong on flute and bansuris,
Lara Wong recently received first prize for best flamenco instrumentalist at Spain’s most important flamenco competition, Festival Cante de las Minas, making her the first woman and foreigner to win this prize. As a Canadian artist dedicated to the niche genre of the flamenco flute, it is a joy for her to bring this unique art form to Canadians and share the excitement of flamenco jazz.
