Title: First Nations Chair
Raven August, a member of the Halalt First Nation, is deeply committed to cultural advocacy, event organization, and the arts. She has played key roles in celebrating Indigenous culture, including as an organizer for the First People’s Festival.
Raven serves as Chair of CVCAS’s Indigenous Arts Committee, where she applies her organizational skills and creativity to developing programming that celebrates Indigenous art and fosters connections within the community.
A passionate advocate for the arts, Raven has a wide range of creative interests with a core passion for dance. She can be found perfecting her footwork in the dance studio whenever she has the chance.
Through her experience in cultural advocacy and event organization, Raven’s contributions to the board balance creativity and purpose, ensuring that CVCAS’s work is guided by principles of reconciliation and inclusion.
