Ian Smith
Title: Vice Chair
Ian Smith emigrated from England in 1990 with his wife Janine and their two sons, spending 27 years in Victoria before moving to Chemainus in 2017. Drawn to the area’s vibrant music scene, Ian quickly became an active part of the community as a musician and volunteer.
Inspired by CVCAS’s work, particularly the Music in the Park festival, Ian began volunteering with the organization in 2022. He performs with The Copper Canyon Band and supports the festival’s behind-the-scenes operations. Ian joined the board in 2024 and values the opportunity to contribute to an organization that brings people together through music and the arts.
