Daphne Carlyle
Title: Rainforest Arts Chair
Daphne Carlyle is an accomplished photographer and artist based in Saltair. After earning a Photographic Technology Diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, Daphne and her husband Art operated a successful portrait studio and retail business in Alberta. Now retired, she continues her creative work through Carlyle Art, capturing the natural beauty of Vancouver Island.
As a key volunteer with Rainforest Arts, Daphne oversees the curation and exhibition of artworks, playing a pivotal role in promoting local artists and enriching the region’s cultural landscape. Her contributions to photography have been recognized by the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), where she holds the designation of Master of Photographic Arts with ten bars. In 2016, she was honored with the prestigious Yousuf Karsh Lifetime Achievement Award.
Daphne’s dedication to the arts and her active involvement in the Chemainus Rotary Club reflect her commitment to community service and creative expression.
